January 18, 2011 | 11:05 am

A Hesperia couple arrested on suspicion of videotaping their 23-month-old son smoking pot are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Victorville.

Melanie Soliz, 20, and Blake Hightower, 24, were arrested Jan. 15 after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Lisa Guerra was tipped off about the alleged abusive activity, said Arden Wiltshire, a spokeswoman for the department.

Wiltshire confirmed police video showing the toddler smoking from a marijuana pipe was recovered as evidence. The video will not be released to the public, she said.

Guerra went to the couple’s home in the 7600 block of Kingston Road around noon and arrested Soliz, who is seven months pregnant. Hightower surrendered at 6:15 p.m. that night. Both were booked on suspicion of cruelty to a child.

The two were being held Tuesday at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on $100,000 bail each. Both are to be arraigned at Victor Valley Superior Courthouse.
