Police investigate fatal shooting in South Los Angeles

Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man Friday night in the South Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

Los Angeles police officers with the Newton Station responded to a report of shots fired about 9:30 p.m. and discovered the body of Gregorio Mejia-Murillo near 52nd and South Main streets, Sgt. Rick Arteaga and a coroner's official said.

No other information was released.
