L.A. County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in East Los Angeles.

The suspect was in the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, and no deputies were injured in the 3:07 p.m. shooting Wednesday in the 4700 block of Hammel Street.

Sheriff’s officials said no information was available about why the deputy had been at the scene in the first place or what led to the shooting.
