Mel Gibson 'crazy' and 'violent,' Oksana Grigorieva tells Larry King
As L.A. prosecutors mull possible domestic violence charges against Mel Gibson, his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, detailed instances of alleged abuse in an interview Wednesday on "Larry King Live."
Grigorieva described Gibson as "crazy" and said she might have stayed in the relationship too long. On CNN, she described one alleged incident.
"And I ran into my son's bedroom and told him to hide because Mel is crazy, you know, he's getting really violent," she said. "So my son was getting ready for bed and he jumped around the bed and I was standing in the middle of the room with the baby like, you know, mother protecting her cubs. And I was standing in the middle of the room holding the baby as Mel proceeded into the room and struck me twice."
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department completed an investigation into whether the actor hit Grigorieva in October and turned over its findings to county prosecutors.
Sources have told The Times that prosecutors are reviewing that case but are unlikely to move forward until the Sheriff's Department has finished its investigation into claims that Grigorieva or someone close to her was attempting to extort money from Gibson.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing, said the cases are heavily intertwined.
Gibson's camp did not immediately comment on the CNN interview.
