L.A. heat wave continues; forecasters say some new records could be set

November 3, 2010 |  8:41 am

The November heat wave will continue in Southern California on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching the high 90s in some spots.

According to the National Weather Service, the hot weather should continue through Friday, when temperatures are supposed to drop into the high 70s and low 80s.

There will be less wind Wednesday than Tuesday, which is good news for firefighters who were on high alert yesterday. A small fire in Riverside forced officials to briefly evacuate homes.

The NWS said that it's possible that parts of Orange County, San Diego County and the Inland Empire could set new high-temperature records for the day on Wednesday. Officials also said those going to the beach should watch out for high surf and rip currents.
