Rain, thunder arrive in L.A. area

Rain and thunderstorms arrived in Southern California on Tuesday morning.

The wet conditions are expected to continue through the day, with a chance of heavy downpours possible in the afternoon in areas burned during last year's Station fire.

The rain was slowing the morning commute, though no freeway or street flooding due to the rain was reported.

Some of the most extreme conditions were reported in Orange County and northern San Diego County.

The National Service said the L.A. basin has a 50% of rain Tuesday. A slight chance of rain is in the forecast for Wednesday. Conditions are expected to dry out by Thursday.
