One dead in Lancaster house fire
Los Angeles County firefighters were sifting through debris Friday morning of a fire that took the life of one person in Lancaster.
Firefighters were called to the home at 44618 12th Street West at 10:22 p.m. Thursday, said Inspector Matt Levesque of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
They arrived to find the house burning and a person outside with second- and third-degree burns. Firefighters extinguished the fire in 15 minutes.
During a search of the house, they found another person dead inside. An L.A. County coroner’s official said the person’s identity had not been confirmed. The cause of the fire had not been determined.
L.A. County sheriff's officials said a homicide detective was at the scene in case the fire was caused by arson.
