Man shot and killed in Inglewood [Updated]

A man was fatally shot early Saturday in the parking lot of an Inglewood liquor store, police said.

The unidentified victim was standing in the lot in the 400 block of West Manchester Boulevard when two men approached, Inglewood police said in a statement. Seconds later, one of the suspects pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired multiple shots at the victim, police said.

The two suspects ran to a light-colored vehicle nearby and then drove south on Cedar Avenue, police said.

[Update 11:55 a.m.: Since January 2007, Inglewood, which has more than 112,000 residents, has had at least 83 homicides, including a September 2007 double homicide in the same block where Saturday's shooting took place, according to coroner's data collected for The Times' interactive Homicide Report.
