Three small brush fires break out in Kern County

August 25, 2010 |  6:13 pm

Three small brush fires, apparently caused by lightning strikes, broke out Wednesday afternoon in Kern County, authorities said.

The blazes were near Tehachapi but were not threatening structures, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Fire units were responding. Sheriff's units also responded but were turned back because they were not needed, authorities said.
