Actress Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, died of pneumonia, coroner says
Actress Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, died of pneumonia and had heart disease, L.A. County Coroner's officials said Wednesday.
Monjack, 40, was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home in May by Murphy's mother.
Coroner's officials determined he died of natural causes, and the cause of death was community-acquired acute bronchopneumonia with enlarged heart and heart disease.
Blood toxicology tests showed the presence of multiple medications, but they were detected at therapeutic or sub-therapeutic levels and most likely did not contribute to his death, coroner's officials said.
Monjack's died just months after Murphy died of pneumonia exacerbated by anemia.
Coroner's officials expect Monjack's autopsy report to be available within two weeks.
