A 14-year-old boy who died after a fire tore through his San Fernando Valley home Tuesday was an up-and-coming actor from New Zealand, according to a media report.

Eitan Djiji was pulled unconscious from the home during a rescue that injured two firefighters and sent three other family members to the hospital.

Eitan, who was taken off life support, appeared in the 2009 comedy "My Homework Ate My Dog," according to the New Zealand Herald.

The report said that Eitan was due to attend the High School for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles.

The two firefighters suffered burns to their hands, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. The three other family members were treated for burns and respiratory problems.
