Four boaters were in danger as a huge fire raged aboard their vessel.

The Coast Guard rescued four people from a burning boat off San Pedro on Saturday, officials said.

The incident occurred at about 2:15 p.m.  when a boater noticed that another vessel was on fire.

The Coast Guard received a distress call and sent a 25-foot rescue boat to a spot about four miles off  Point Vicente on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

According to a Coast Guard press release, smoke and flames were coming from the boat. The Coast Guard extinguished the fire, and there were no injuries. The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
