July 29, 2010 | 11:45 am

A 56-year-old Big Bear Valley woman whose disappearance triggered a police search in the San Bernardino Mountains was found safe in Malibu, authorities said Thursday.

Jan Heyes, 56, was reported missing by her husband on July 21. The husband told San Bernardino County sheriff’s investigators that the couple was having marital problems.  She left their house in her 2005 black Jeep Grand Cherokee and had not contacted friends of family members for days, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s officials launched a search the mountain area for her car, including an aerial  search.

“I am happy to report that Jan Heyes, missing person out of Big Bear, has been located in Malibu and is fine,’’ sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller said in a statement.
