Men arrested in San Diego County in cocaine smuggling case

Two Mexican citizens were being held on federal smuggling charges after they were allegedly caught at a San Diego checkpoint with cocaine valued at more than $1 million, authorities said Thursday. 
The men were apprehended Wednesday at the Pine Valley checkpoint after they drove up in a minivan loaded with 125 pounds of the drug, the Department of Homeland Security said.
The men began acting nervous as they were questioned by U.S. Border Patrol agents, who became suspicious and conducted an inspection of the vehicle. Agents found 49 packages of cocaine hidden inside a door panel, authorities said.
The men, both 30, and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Their names were not released.
