Man sought in death of woman found in burned Valley Village home

July 25, 2010 |  3:43 pm

Compositesketch Police are searching for a man who ran from a burning home where a woman was found dead.

Firefighters found the burned body of Chere Osmanhodzic, 34, Saturday after putting out a fire in the Valley Village home she shared with her boyfriend.

Osmanhodzic’s boyfriend came back from the store and confronted a man inside the home, according to a statement issued Sunday by the Los Angeles Police Department.

He chased the man several blocks but couldn't catch him. When he returned home, the boyfriend found the house engulfed in flames, the statement said.

Detectives are investigating the case as both arson and homicide, but Osmanhodzic's cause of death has not been determined.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot-8, stocky Latino in his mid-20s, wearing black shorts, a blue shirt and a black baseball hat turned backward.

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect and asked anyone with information to contact the LAPD North Hollywood Station at (818) 623-4016.
