A brush fire in Walnut was threatening structures Tuesday evening and homes were being evacuated, a Los Angeles County fire official said.

The fire broke out about 5:30 p.m. near Crystal Peak Circle and Skyline Drive, Los Angeles County dispatch supervisor Art Marrujo said.

Marrujo said they did not yet know the acreage of the fire, nor how many homes were in danger.
