3 arrested in fatal stabbing outside filmmaker's Beverly Hills home

Police arrested three suspects Wednesday in connection with a fatal stabbing outside a hillside home in the Beverly Hills neighborhood of Trousdale Estates.

The three were taken into custody about 5 a.m. after detectives worked on the case through the night, said Lt. Shan Davis of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The suspects' names were not released, and detectives were still trying to determine the motive, Davis said.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Katsutoshi Takazato, who lived in the home were Tuesday's stabbing occurred in the 1800 block of Carla Ridge, said Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the coroner's office.

The estate is owned by filmmaker Fuminori Hayashida, who produced several low-budget movies in the late 1990s, including "No Strings Attached” and "Red Meat."
