June 13, 2010 | 10:55 pm

A pedestrian died Sunday night after being hit by a car on a busy thoroughfare near the Cahuenga Pass in an accident that also injured four people in the vehicle, police said.

The unidentified man in his mid-30s was dead when emergency personnel arrived at the scene just before 9 p.m., said the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.

Berry had no immediate information on the condition of the four people injured, one of whom was apparently trapped beneath the vehicle when paramedics arrived. All four were taken to local hospitals.

The accident occurred in the 4200 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard, near the Hollywood Freeway.
