Man killed in machete attack at porn facility is identified

June 3, 2010 | 12:11 pm

A porn actor who authorities say was killed by a machete-wielding colleague has been identified as 30-year-old Herbert Hin Wong, sources familiar with the investigation said Thursday.

A native of China, Wong acted in adult films under the name "Tom Dong" and even appeared with Hill in several films. Police investigators said the 30-year-old Van Nuys resident was mortally wounded after coming to the aid of a co-worker who was attacked Tuesday night at the offices of a Van Nuys video production facility.

Stephen Hill, 30, has been identified as the suspect in the incident, in which three people were stabbed, authorities said.

Wong was described by industry colleagues as a gentle, soft-spoken man. He appeared with Hill, who acted under the name "Steve Driver," in at least two films, according to one of the companies that employed the men.

Law enforcement officials continue to search for Hill and say they are unsure whether he is nearby or has left the area. Hill could be armed, authorities said, and anyone who sees him is urged to call the police immediately.

Hill was last seen driving a blue Toyota RAV4 from the facility Tuesday night, police said. The license plate number is 5YTC423.
