Man killed after being hit by Blue Line train in downtown L.A. [Updated]

A man was killed Wednesday evening after he was struck by a Blue Line train in downtown Los Angeles.

The victim was hit at 490 W. Venice Blvd., the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Fire crews went to the site about 7:45 p.m. No additional details were available.

[Updated at 10:03 p.m.: The victim was about 50 years old and either jumped or fell in front of the northbound train, Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said. No other injuries were reported.]
