Bicycling community in L.A. 'rode as one' during recent Critical Mass event

June 28, 2010 | 10:52 am

Critical Mass success: Streetsblog L.A. reports on the Critical Mass bike ride with LAPD officers and cyclists:

While the stories of police and cyclists hanging out and bonding are great news, there's another story that so far hasn't been written. For one night, the fractured bicycling advocacy community put aside its own internal divisions and rode as one.

Pot dispensary in Monrovia?: The Pasadena Star-News reports that plans to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Monrovia have been met with considerable resistance from locals:

The idea has not gone over well with his neighbors. When [Leon San Blas] presented his proposal at a recent meeting of the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte [MAD] Town Council meeting that drew a crowd of more than 100 people, "it was a lynch mob," [he] said.
