Buses and trains that normally operate near Staples Center will be shut down or rerouted during Thursday night's game between the Lakers and Celtics because of street closures. Buses along Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles will also be shut down.

Metro bus lines that will be closed near Staples Center include the 28, 30, 31, 81, 439, 442, 445, 460, 450X, 728 and 910, officials said.

The Los Angeles Police Department was also planning to order the shutdown of the Blue Line Chick Hearn station near Staples Center and the nearby Grand Avenue station after the game begins at 6 p.m.

Blue Line passengers traveling to Long Beach can board southbound Metro buses at Grand Avenue and Pico Boulevard or Main Street and Pico Boulevard, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.

The buses that will shut down near Whittier and Atlantic boulevards include the 18, 66, 265, 258, 260, 270 and 762 lines.
