Woman's body found after Dana Point house fire

May 26, 2010 |  7:26 pm

The body of an elderly woman was found Wednesday afternoon in Dana Point amid the debris of a trash-strewn home where a fire had broken out, authorities said.

The blaze was reported at 2:15 p.m. in the single-family home in the 24000 block of Calle Naranja and was quickly put out by fire crews, the Orange County Fire Authority said.

"It was a hoarding condition," Capt. Greg Mckeown said of the home.

The woman's body was found while firefighters were mopping up the blaze. Her name and age had not been determined.

Mckeown said investigators were at the scene Wednesday evening trying to determine what sparked the fire.
