Metrolink train hits unoccupied car in Burbank; no injuries reported

A Metrolink train struck an unoccupied car that was left on the tracks.A Metrolink train hit an unoccupied car sitting on the tracks at a grade crossing Thursday morning in Burbank, authorities said.

Ventura County Line train number 110, which left Moorpark at 8:26 a.m. bound for Union Station in Los Angeles, struck the car about 9:18 a.m. at the Buena Vista intersection, said Metrolink spokeswoman Angie Starr.

The train was stopped while officials conducted an investigation, Starr said. There were no reports of injuries.
