Long Beach police search for shooter who killed woman

Police were searching Monday for a shooter who killed a woman in downtown Long Beach.

The shooting occurred about 7:30 a.m. in the 200 block of East Ocean Boulevard.

“We believe the suspect is still in the area,” said Sgt. Dina Zapalski, a spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department.

A SWAT team was activated, and the area was blocked off during the investigation.
