Bear rescued from Porter Ranch pine tree

May 26, 2010 | 11:35 am

The bear that had been stuck in a Porter Ranch pine tree has been rescued, fire officials said.

The 90- to 150-pound bear had wandered into the neighborhood and was crouching about 15 feet above ground in the tree in the 12000 block of North Stewarton Drive.

"The bear is safely out of the tree and in the care of animal services," said Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
