A car driven by a 74-year-old El Cajon, Calif., resident crashed into a Carl's Jr. restaurant this morning, killing a patron sitting in a booth, police said.

The victim was described as a 66-year-old man, a regular patron of the restaurant in the suburb east of San Diego. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, El Cajon police said.

Police said there are no immediate indications that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, which occurred about 8:45 a.m. The driver was seen just moments earlier at a nearby bank ATM.
