SWAT officers surround home in San Fernando Valley after gunshots fired

November 24, 2009 | 10:12 pm
A Los Angeles police SWAT unit has surrounded a home in North Hollywood where a man who allegedly fired shots into the air has barricaded himself, authorities said.

The incident began about 5:15 p.m when the man, who family members say had been drinking, fired at least two rounds in the 11100 block of Valerio Street, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

"He's refusing to come outside," said LAPD Officer Bruce Borihanh.
