InlandempireAlthough the blaze that has burned in the hills above Norco is by the far the largest in Riverside County, it is not the only fire in the Inland Empire. Here's a rundown:

Norco: The La Sierra Fire, which began about noon, has consumed 160 acres and is about 50% contained. No homes have been reported lost or damaged. The fire began near Crestview Drive and Ingalls Park along the Riverside/Norco border and spread toward the Hidden Valley Golf Club.

Redlands: The fire’s progress has been halted at 17 acres. No homes have been lost, but several residences on Sunset Drive were damaged in the blaze, which began shortly after 2 p.m.

Temecula: A small brush fire along Jefferson Avenue has been contained at five acres. The blaze began about 11 a.m. in an open field. No structures were threatened and no evacuations ordered. Engines remain on the scene for mop-up.

Riverside: A small fire broke out along the Santa Ana River near Van Buren Boulevard about 1:20 p.m. and was knocked down by two engine crews.
