Man shot in Lynwood by sheriff's anti-gang unit

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Lynwood late tonight.

The shooting involved a deputy with Operation Safe Streets, the anti-gang unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. One man was hospitalized for his wounds, but his condition was not available.

The incident took place shortly after 7 p.m. in the 3100 block of Banning Avenue, deputies said. No deputies were injured. Few other details were available.
