Manhunt underway in Anaheim double homicide
Castillo remained at large and was last seen driving a red 2000 Honda Civic with California license plate 4JPR120. He is described as Latino, 5-feet-5 and weighing about 150 pounds, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 4:45 a.m. in the 200 block of South Rio Vista Street, near Lincoln Avenue, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Michael Bustamante.
"We had numerous callers who said they heard shots and screaming coming from the apartment complex," Martinez said.
"We believed that Anthony Castillo, the father of the child, showed up this morning, a disagreement or dispute broke out, and ultimately Mr. Castillo shot the two -- the man and the female," Martinez said. "At that point, he left with their child, Ometal."
Investigators said the woman had been living in the apartment with a female roommate, who also had a child. They were unharmed.
It was unclear if a custody dispute triggered the shooting. The investigation is still ongoing, Bustamante said.
