L.A. Unified employee faces child molestation charges

August 4, 2009 |  9:33 pm

A Los Angeles Unified School District employee was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old student, police said.

Forrest Stobbe, 39, who worked at Queen Anne Elementary School, was booked on child abuse charges, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was arrested at his home in North Hollywood. Bail was set at $1 million.

Police did not disclose whether Stobbe was a teacher at the school, and district spokespeople were not available for comment.

The student, who turned 11 after the incident, reported the abuse to his parents last week. They notified police, who launched an investigation.

Police and school district authorities are working to determine if there are additional victims at the school in the Wilshire area.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the toll-free number (877) LAPD-24-7 (527-3247) or send a text message to CRIMES (274637).
