August 4, 2009 |  6:49 pm

Cyclists will race once again Sunday in the Brentwood Grand Prix over a nearly one-mile circuit on San Vicente Boulevard. Organizers say the event is expected to attract more than 500 amateur and professional bicycle racers from the Western United States. It will include a $10,000 cash purse.

The grand prix, presented by Adageo Energy, with Velo Club La Grange as host, will feature races in nine categories, with the program beginning at 7 a.m. with a masters run. Helen's Cycles will sponsor races for boys and girls 5 to 11. The pro race will begin at 2:15 p.m.
