August 10, 2009 | 11:28 am

Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks was closed this morning as police investigated a report of suspicious sounds coming from a bank vault, authorities said.

A bank manager and employees opening the Bank of America branch in the 14000 block of Ventura Boulevard about 8 a.m. heard an unusual noise coming from the vault area, Officer Brian Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The bank employees evacuated the location and called police, he said.

Police established a perimeter around the bank and closed Ventura Boulevard from Cedros Avenue to Willis Avenue. K-9 units were called to the scene.

The bank remained closed as of 11 a.m. No arrests have been made, Borihanh said.
