Former USC basketball player Stais Boseman arrested
Former USC basketball player Stais Boseman has been arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of carjacking, authorities said today.
The 35-year-old former USC guard, who played with the Houston Rockets after college, was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday by officers with the LAPD's Wilshire Division in connection with a carjacking in the area, according to Officer April Harding, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department. Boseman was taken into custody on Crenshaw Boulevard and held in lieu of $111,564 bail.
Boseman first rose to fame as a two-sports athlete at Morningside High School in Inglewood. He led the basketball team to a 1993 state championship, and on the football field as quarterback, he was named a Parade All-American.
After USC, he played with the Houston Rockets in the NBA and several minor league teams. The story of the Morningside High championship basketball team was documented in "Hardwood Dreams: Ten Years Later," a 90-minute look at the lifestyle of young basketball players.
