Residents want safety fixes along the Blue Line

June 2, 2009 |  6:38 am

Residents in South Los Angeles are raising concerns about a longtime problem: traffic accidents involving motor vehicles and Blue Line light-rail trains. The local neighborhood council is calling on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and city leaders to make major improvements to the Blue Line, including some expensive grade crossings.

Many of the accidents occur in densely populated sections of the line in downtown Los Angeles and downtown Long Beach. KTLA's Jim Nash has more about the new safety effort.
