A Los Angeles city street maintenance employee has been arrested on suspicion of stealing at least 50,000 gallons of fuel worth about $250,000 from a municipal vehicle facility in Sunland and selling it, police said Friday.

Raymond Mark, 44, was booked on suspicion of grand theft but could face additional counts, including criminal profiteering and Department of Motor Vehicles fraud, police said.

An alleged accomplice, Gevork Sukunyan, 28, of Burbank, was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property in what investigators said was a scheme to buy and resell the fuel.
