The woman fatally shot during a brawl in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego has been identified as Lakeisha Mason, 21, of San Diego, police said.

The shooting occurred about 2 a.m. when a fight broke out among a large group and a gunman began firing into the crowd, hitting Mason and two men. The men underwent surgery and are reported in stable condition.

The gunman is described as a thin, young man in a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, said San Diego police Lt. Terry McManus. Police are hoping someone may have caught an image of him with a cellphone camera.
