May 18, 2009 |  3:54 pm

The Los Angeles Police Department was responding this afternoon to reports of an apparent shooting in the parking structure of the Beverly Center shopping mall.

Details of the incident were sketchy, but all entrances and exits to the popular Westside shopping mall have been sealed off and police said the suspects are believed to be driving a Nissan Altima and silver Mercedes. LAPD sources told The Times that officers were sent to the mall on a report of a group fight. But the Los Angeles Fire Department said they were sent to the mall on a report of a shooting.

Updated at 4:05 p.m. LAPD Sgt. Ronnie Crump said a man was shot at the entrance to the mall on La Cienega Boulevard. He was grave condition and rushed to a hospital, while two suspects ran in the direction of Beverly Hills, he said.
