Police search for missing 3-year-old San Bernardino boy

May 4, 2009 |  7:38 am

Authorities are searching today for two men who robbed a San Bernardino home and kidnapped a 3-year-old boy.

Armed with handguns, the intruders entered the residence in the 8000 block of Pedley Road about 2:30 p.m. Sunday and tied up a woman and her five children, then ransacked the home, said Cindy Beavers, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The robbers fled the home with the boy, Briant Rodriguez, and an unspecified amount of cash and property, warning the family not to call police, Beavers said.

The men were described as thin, light-skinned Latinos. One is about 18 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and was wearing  blue jeans, a green T-shirt and a black baseball cap. The other is about 24 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and was wearing a black shirt, black pants, boots and a white bandanna.

Briant is about 3 feet tall, 40 pounds, with brown, curly hair. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt with blue sleeves, blue striped shorts and sandals.

“Our biggest concern at this point is Briant’s safety,” Beavers said. “It’s just a mystery as to why they would take him.”
