Two pedestrians were hurt this afternoon when a car hit a light standard at the corner of 7th and Figueroa streets in downtown L.A.

The incident occurred after 3 p.m. when the driver of the Chevy Caprice station wagon lost consciousness and drove his car onto a sidewalk near a Bank of America. There was no immediate word on the condition of the pedestrians, who were taken to local hospitals.
