Two victims of alleged gang attack refuse to cooperate with police

March 8, 2009 |  2:01 pm

A man and a teenager were shot today after an argument at a dance hall in Huntington Park but refused to cooperate with an investigation into what police believe was a gang-related attack.

The two victims "didn’t want to provide any details with regards to what the incident was about or who the suspects could be," said Huntington Park Police  Lt. Cosme Lozano. "We really couldn’t work up an investigation."

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Florence and California avenues at a restaurant and dance hall at 1:45 a.m., Lozano said. He said the victims got into an "argument or confrontation" with two other people. The man and teenager were each shot once and transferred to a local hospital in stable condition, Lozano said.
