March 12, 2009 | 12:21 pm

A Culver City woman who was sleeping in her car early this morning with her boyfriend when an SUV driver rammed into them, said the driver backed up and hit them again, drove up the street, made a U-turn and hit them one more time.

Maria Mendez, 43, said she and her boyfriend, Francisco Regalado, were sleeping in their Honda Civic in downtown L.A. when they were suddenly hit on the driver's side by a dark SUV. The SUV backed up and rammed the car a second time, said Mendez, who lives in Culver City. "I didn't know what was happening," she said.

Later, the driver led police on a 10-minute pursuit that ended when officers opened fire, killing him. Read more on the deadly police pursuit.
