Park La Brea feeling young again

February 21, 2009 | 10:24 am

Parklabrea Longtime Angelenos will remember when the massive Park La Brea residential district was known as a refuge for older folks who spent their days sipping coffee at the Farmers Market (a Times story from the 1980s cited a not-very-flattering nickname, "menopause manor.") Over the years, Park La Brea has become much more of a hit address -- and those monolithic towers have even gotten some color. Now, Curbed L.A. reports more upscale improvements: Planting, large lights and what appears to be an infinity pool. Details (check out the  photos, too):

Street improvements, like those stocky lights, trees and plants, are coming, as is a pool and clubhouse, and much, much more. The Prime Group, owner of the property, hired Nadel Architects to ‘re-brand’ the property and work has been going on for quite some time now.
