February 11, 2009 |  8:21 am

A discarded fetus was discovered inside a bag at a Baldwin Park recycling plant, authorities said today.

The fetus was found about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday by an employee of Allan Co., at 14618 Arrow Hwy., said Deputy Aura Sierra of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The fetus, whose gender was unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. An investigation is underway to determine how it arrived at the recycling company, whose website states it has 12 plants in California.
