Pellicano family shopping around reality TV show

December 11, 2008 | 10:57 am

Pellicano The prospects for Anthony Pellicano's private detective business nosedived five years ago when he was incarcerated on federal explosives charges.

He's remained in custody ever since and faces the possibility of another 35 years in federal prison when he is sentenced Monday by judge Dale Fischer on a laundry list of wiretapping, racketeering and conspiracy counts.

But now Daily Variety's Michael Schneider reports that Pellicano's wife and three daughters are shopping a reality show that will center around the family's efforts to revive the practice while figuring out "how to fund their extravagant lifestyle without the family patriarch."

Variety says the show is being sold as an amalgam of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and "Charlie's Angels." Season 1 would center on "their attempts to start the agency and also collect bills that are still owed the old company." Zoo Productions, which brought us "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" are producing.
