Harry Potter -- the story continues
No, J.K. Rowling hasn't announced a new Harry Potter book (not yet, anyway) but the muggles over at Warner Bros. are taking a shot at magic and turning the seven books in the blockbuster series into eight films.
After months of rumors, Warner Bros. and the producers of the massively successful movies will announce Thursday that they plan to split "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," J.K. Rowling's seventh and final "Potter" novel, into two blockbuster films -- one to be released in November 2010 and the second in May 2011.
No funny stuff with the titles -- just "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Part I and Part II. And though cynics say the studio's only out to double its payday, producers insist it's all in service of the story. More from Geoff Boucher.
