The Los Angeles Times 2010 Book Prizes will be awarded in a ceremony Friday night in Los Angeles. Late Friday afternoon, editor Russ Stanton, the Times’ Kenneth Turan, who runs the book prizes, and book critic David L. Ulin gathered together for a dress rehearsal with the other presenters.

L.A. Times Publisher and CEO Eddy Hartenstein, who will also be part of the ceremony, avoided my camera by emerging from the elevator just as I was coming back downstairs to write this.
