Are there any fans as enthusiastic and dedicated as ‘Twilight’ fans?

Maybe, but this weekend’s official Twilight Convention in Los Angeles is not yet sold out.

[For the record at 2:06 p.m.: Previous versions of this post reported that the event was sold out. As of Friday afternoon, it was not.]

The massively popular young-adult novel series, the Twilight Saga, has been drawing audiences with the film version of the franchise. Adding to the heat around the upcoming installment ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1,’ co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have a not-so-secret romance brewing offscreen.

At a similar convention in L.A. last year fans got to see Pattinson, Stewart and Taylor Launter in person. This time, those stars won’t be there -- instead, they’ll see other players like Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen), Bronson Pelletier (the Wolf Pack’s Jared) and Tinsel Korey (Emily).

The highlights are all movie oriented, not focused as much on the original books. But when you get to an event that includes Twilight karaoke, a panel for Twilight moms and a Volturi Vampire Ball, you’re talking about taking the Twilight theme to entirely new places.

Like, for example, Parsippany, N.J. The official Twilight Convention in Los Angeles is near the beginning of a 14-city tour that includes Dallas, Baltimore and Chicago and extends until this time next year. Each site may have slightly different schedules, actors and events. Next up is Nashville.
