Homicides: Dec. 28 - Dec. 31

In 2009, the number of homicides in Los Angeles County is about 742. This number does not include a few cases in which the cause of death has been deferred.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials have listed the following deaths between Dec. 28 and Dec. 31 as homicides:

Sergio Lopez, an 18-year-old Latino, on Dec. 28. Lopez was shot in the 1100 block of East 78th Street in unincorporated Los Angeles.

James Cody, a 44-year-old black man, on Dec. 28. Cody was stabbed at Edgemont Street and Hollywood Boulevard in Los Feliz.

Lamont Crayon, a 27-year-old black man, on Dec. 29. Crayon was shot at 42nd Street and McKinley Avenue in South-Central.

Karim Alexander, a 19-year-old black man, on Dec. 29. Alexander was shot in the 1400 block of East 49th Street in Central-Alameda.

Juan Ola, a 26-year-old Latino, on Dec. 30. Ola was stabbed in the 5900 block of South Vermont Avenue in Vermont-Slauson.

Eugene Harrington Jr., a 23-year-old black man, on Dec. 30. Harrington was shot in the 37400 block of Kimberly Lane in Palmdale.

Rodrigo Arias, an 18-year-old Latino, on Dec. 31. Arias was shot in the 200 block of East 69th Street in Florence.
